This is our absolute favorite takeout place to go to. We've always had excellent food and service and the one time the food was off, I called and they INSTANTLY offered us a credit for our next visit. This is a fun establishment with outstanding seafood. I always get the fried shrimp and my husband either the fried or grilled catfish. While it is a little pricy we always get two days worth and it reheats well on our pizza stone. I LOVE Hoochies and I know you will too!!!!!

Hoochies is, by far, one of the best places to eat in Denton and definitely one of the best places to get Cajun food in the area. The hush puppies are to die for as well as the gumbo. Most recently, I tried the shrimp cocktail and it was the best shrimp cocktail I have ever had. I've dreamed about this shrimp cocktail ever since I had it. The service is always very friendly and very patient while you decide what you want. Although it can be busy at times, you can either sit inside and listen to music while you eat or take it right outside the door to sit in a table and watch people pass by. It's a very chill atmosphere that you're going to want to be a part of right on the edge of Denton's square!

We've been coming here for years, don't know why I haven't reviewed it yet. We have tried most everything they have and it is all very good to excellent with good size portions. This is a casual place with a fun atmosphere, good music playing and TVs around. Staff is always friendly and service is good. We travel about 75 miles frequently for this type of food we can't get in our home city.

Hoochie's Creole and Cajun seafood restaurant anchors our historic 1800s classic north Texas small town square area, which stretches eastwards towards Bell Avenue, at the tiny street Industrial St., across from the iconic Dan's Silverleaf live music venue. Creole, shrimp, and oysters are done to exceptional standards. Wash it down with New Orleans, Louisiana Abita or Dixie beer. Save me some, oh yeah! Cheers, Mark F.

We ordered food from Hootchies while we were enjoying the Jazz band at Steve's Wine Bar. They delivered the food right to our table at Steve's and were very personable. The fried green tomatoes and oysters were delicious. The cornbread was ok, just not our favorite. The sliced bread that came with the meal was great though. We also ordered the shrimp kebabs and the shrimp was way overcooked which made them hard and chewy. The fries and slaw that came with the kebab were not our favorite either. The coleslaw was too sweet for our taste and the fries were rather bland.

Food was definitely hittin for starters I had the Mexican Shrimp Cocktail which had plenty of shrimp and extremely savory! Washed that down with a Dos Equis ( or two) and had the Full Catfish w/ hush puppies. Catfish was on point, portion size was favorable, nice and crispy the fries were good, I gotta say the hush puppies were better!!! Ugh ignore my kid, she went for ... you guessed it, tenders and fries which she mentioned were the best ever

Sooooooooooo delicious!!! $34.95 for a bunch of deliciousness! We went here on a whim. You walk up and order then find your own seating. It's a small place and is family friendly. Very casual , no dress code. Great place if you want to go eat and chill without all the "extra". I love that it's open so you can see the outside from inside. The service was okay..I guess as much as to be expected from such a casual space. What would you like? This is the cost. Go find a seat. But definitely willing to give you some extra sauce and answer your questions if you have them lol Parking is street parking. You may have to find a space and walk a little. Overall I look foreword to eating here again!
